With the high cost of regular unleaded, our lives and lifestyles have gotten pricier too.
Summer is here! Already the lucky/blessed have dusted off, waxed and paddled out for the ultimate wave. Every other roll of the ocean is ideal and produces it’s own speed, force, and rush. The mysterious waters create an awesome energy… no tax or pump required.
Some of us extremists are geographically challenged and not so fortunate. Bummer… may I suggest becoming a local at your nearest cable park? These lakes provide boarding and skating for all levels of riders, no fancy boat required! Boarders are pulled by an overhead cable powered by an electric motor maintaining speeds between 15-50 mph. Check out this site for a park near you. Cable boarding is clean, quiet, and environmentally friendly. There is no risk of oil/ fuel contamination OR EXPENSES! Tree Humper!... Ha ha.. you’ve instantly become an environmentalist and at the same time found the perfect place to master techniques and land unheard-of-tricks. Europe is full of these parks and the US is catching on.
If a park is still a far away luxury… you could always BOATPOOL.? Find others going to the same water destinations and start shredding smartly. C’mon kids… get creative… damn the silly man.

Skating China is choice. Bryce Hepworth took a break from his business obligations and skated the local areas daily. You will not see signs prohibiting this activity. You won’t be ran off by an out-of-shape security guard or “tisked” by the fingers of store owners; skateboarding and it’s lifestyle is still so new and exciting to the people of this traditional country. Every trick gets applauded by gathered crowds. Even the local law enforcement cheers and chases down your runaway board, encouraging you to try again.
It’s unskated and it’s beautiful. You can’t help but smile as you slide the unexplored rails and roll over the virgin concrete. Not far from Bryce’s town was Blind’s skate team filming a video in Shenzhen. Bryce was able to meet up and share in their appreciation for the “pure” skateboarding happening in Asia.
“I have been skating for 20 some years. This is by far the coolest skating I’ve ever experienced.” Says Hepworth. Late in his visit while working with a new factory outside Don Guan, he found a hidden local treasure, an abandoned water park. Yes, a dried up ghost town complete with it’s very own spooky snack-shack. Check out the pictures below. It’s like something you dream about or perhaps once doodled-up in math class.
